I was born in Rostov-on-Don in 1998 and spent my first five years with my family on the Chung-Ang University campus in Anseong, South Korea. Then came Moscow, with every summer at my grandparents’ in Kharkiv, and from 2010 four years in Warsaw. That is where my Polish and Ukrainian come from.

In 2014 I came back to Moscow for the HSE Lyceum, to study mathematics and computer science, and then trained as a welding engineer at BMSTU. My thesis was on arc welding of aluminium pressure vessels for aerospace: thermal deformation, hot cracks, and the fixtures that hold it all still.

In my last two years at BMSTU I also worked as a technology investment analyst at Moscow Partners, assessing deep-tech companies before their IPOs and presenting them to C-level teams. On the side I wrote about technology and tech companies for Bitkogan, a finance channel on Telegram.

In 2022 I moved to Italy for a PhD at Politecnico di Milano, and stayed. I spent four years in the MetroSpace Lab on the Lecco campus building MiLi, a small LiDAR for Mars, including a season at INTA near Madrid aligning its optics in a cleanroom.

These days I measure very small things very carefully at Technoprobe, and work on the processes that make them. Technoprobe builds probe cards for testing semiconductors; I am in the division that makes their probe heads. I live in Lecco with my wife, close to the lake and the mountains.
